The Health Education Committee serves as:

  • A forum for the exchange of information.
  • An opportunity to educate the public health workforce and other health professionals by increasing the competency, skills and performance as they relate to the core public health essential services.
  • A networking opportunity for public health professionals that are employed in a variety of settings including: local/state health departments, non-profit and not-for-profit organizations, community based organizations, clinical practice, academia and other healthcare settings.

The Health Education Committee meets:

The Health Education Committee meets from 8:45am to 11:30 am (via Webinar and telephone call-in) on these dates. Dates and times are subject to change based on speaker schedules.

CHES Credits

CHES credits (certified health education specialist credits) are offered to health educators that attend the HEC meeting. Each meeting generally has two speakers, each presenting for 1 credit hour. In addition to the annual membership fee, health educators that would like to receive CHES credits must pay a $3 administrative fee per credit, for a total of $6 per meeting. Checks can be made out directly to BHCare. Cash is not accepted.
