Public Health Nurse I – Part time, 19.75 hours per week
The City of Meriden, Department of Health and Human Services, is hiring a Public Health Nurse I (Part time, 19.75 hours per week, year round) to work in a public health clinic and cover school health offices when needed.

This position consists of varied public health nursing duties. In the clinic, the Public Health Nurse I gives adult and child immunizations, reviews school registrations for entry, and conducts health screenings. In the school health office, the Public Health Nurse I plans and participates in manners pertaining to health appraisals; provides first aid care in emergencies; gives prescribed treatments, and administers health screenings. Both sites will require maintaining accurate records, interpreting and complying with laws, regulations, and ordinances regarding public health work, and preparing narrative and statistical reports as needed. 

The candidate must have graduated from a recognized nursing school and/or a recognized college or university with a degree in nursing, following a course of study including approved programs in public health nursing. The candidate must have a Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut. Starting salary is $30.98 per hour. The City of Meriden, Department of Health and Human Services, is hiring a Public Health Nurse I (Part time, 19.75 hours per week, 10 months) to work in a school health office.

This position consists of varied public health nursing duties under the supervision of the Public Health Nurse Administrator. The Public Health Nurse I serves as a resource person to classroom teachers and others pertaining to health instruction; plans and participates in manners pertaining to health appraisals; provides first aid care in emergencies; gives prescribed treatments, administers health screenings, maintains accurate records, interprets and complies with laws, regulations, and ordinances regarding public health work, and prepares narrative and statistical reports as needed. 

The candidate must have graduated from a recognized nursing school and/or a recognized college or university with a degree in nursing, following a course of study including approved programs in public health nursing. The candidate must have a Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut. Starting salary is $30.98 per hour.
