The City of Meriden, Department of Health and Human Services, is hiring a Public Health Nurse I (Part time, 15 hours per week, 10 months) to work in a school health office.

This position consists of varied public health nursing duties under the supervision of the Public Health Nurse Administrator. The Public Health Nurse I serves as a resource person to classroom teachers and others pertaining to health instruction; plans and participates in manners pertaining to health appraisals; provides first aid care in emergencies; gives prescribed treatments, administers health screenings, maintains accurate records, interprets and complies with laws, regulations, and ordinances regarding public health work, and prepares narrative and statistical reports as needed. 

The candidate must have graduated from a recognized nursing school and/or a recognized college or university with a degree in nursing, following a course of study including approved programs in public health nursing. The candidate must have a Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut. 

Hours will be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:45am – 2:30pm. Starting salary is $31.52 per hour.
