The Connecticut River Area Health District (CRAHD) is seeking a qualified Director of Health (DOH). CRAHD is a full-time local health department for the towns of Old Saybrook, Deep River, Haddam and Clinton, serving a population of over 36,000 residents. CRAHD is governed by a 6 member Board of Directors, and maintains its central office in Old Saybrook CT.

CRAHD mission is: To provide quality core local public health services to the district's towns through a variety of education, monitoring, promotion, empowerment, advocacy, and enforcement activities with the goal of improving the health status of its residents.

The DOH serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the health district and is responsible for the overall administration, management and supervision of the district. DOH reports directly to the Board of Directors of CRAHD. This position is subject to approval of the Board of Directors and the Commissioner of Public Health. 

Applicants must hold a (DPH vetted) Master’s Degree in Public Health and must demonstrate 5 years of increasingly responsible public health administrative experience. CT licensed Sanitarian highly desirable. Must possess a current CT drivers or be eligible for same.
