2018 CPHA Step Challenge

Steps Recorded

The American Public Health Association (APHA) has challenged Americans to collectively walk 1 billion steps by the end of National Public Health Week (April 2-6, 2018), a time to raise awareness of what it takes to improve everyone's health, from clean air to good nutrition to sound health policies.

The 2017 CPHA Step Challenge was such a success last year that we surpassed our goal by over 40,000,000 steps. We hope you will join us for the 2018 CPHA Step Challenge and help us take our step record to new heights.

Join the 2018 CPHA Step Challenge

  1. Register your team in the form below.
  2. Have your team members use a step count tracker apps or a pedometer to track your steps.
  3. Download the excel document here and at the end of these directions to track your team's weekly step counts.
  4. Report back your weekly step counts on the next Monday of every week on the Step Submission Form webpage.

  6. We encourage you to Mentor and Move.  This is a great time to walk and talk about public health issues and strategies to make the community a better place to live, work, play and grow up. Please visit the CPHA NPHW page to learn how to walk with students in your area.
  7. Finally, share pictures with us on Facebook and Twitter and tag us at #CPHAStepChallenge.
