The Connecticut Public Health Association (CPHA) Health Education Committee (HEC) is kicking off its lunch and learn series where public health professionals across the state can learn and exchange information about various health topics. Our first event, titled ‘Lunch and Learn with the Health Education Committee: Connecting for Heart Health’ will be held next month during American Heart Month on February 5, 2021, from 12PM – 1PM. Please join us to learn and share information about heart disease, the nation’s leading cause of death. The event will feature a presentation from the HEC’s very own Jamie Luckhardt. Jamie is a two-time heart survivor that was diagnosed with heart disease at a young age. She has a background in health education, is CHES certified and currently working on Covid-19 with the Meriden Health Department. She will be presenting on her own experiences with heart disease, discussing risk factors and prevention resources. After the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to share their efforts to educate populations about heart disease across the state, especially communities of color and other vulnerable populations during a Q&A discussion. We're interested in learning about the challenges you have experienced and the resources you have used to educate populations. This event has been approved for 1 Category 1 continuing education contact hour for CHES and MCHES participants. CHES ID: PM1131137_02052021.
