NACCHO Annual 2013 is an opportunity to join a thousand of your colleagues for the year’s largest gathering of local health officials in the United States. NACCHO is the only national organization that hosts annual conferences that specifically address the needs and concerns of local health officials. This year’s conference theme is Public Health by the Numbers. Our Story. Our Time. Our Future. Never before have public health entities faced such a rapidly changing landscape driven by increased pressure for limited resources and an increased focus on new and traditional public health roles and government accountability and effectiveness. Rapid change has brought a new sense of urgency for improved management practices, development of unconventional partnerships, strategic analysis of business centers, and advancements in technology. There is a strong, ongoing need for advanced communication competencies that use and leverage data to inform and influence people and decisions in a changing political environment. NACCHO Annual 2013 will provide an interactive setting for local health officials and their public health partners from around the country to examine strategies, share ideas, and plan actions for sustaining or reinventing their organizations. Attendees will discover how to address preventing the leading causes of death, examine the effective use of data across all operational aspects of a public health agency, and discover how to maximize organizational performance, influence policy, and maintain fiscal sustainability.
