The Prematurity Prevention Network is pleased to announce its upcoming webinar, "Family Health History: Clinical Decision Support for Quality Improvement".

This presentation provides the opportunity for nurses and other perinatal professionals to participate in an in-depth discussion with Q&A on the value and benefits of gathering family health history information during a patient’s prenatal visit. Our panel of speakers will provide their expertise and views on improving risk assessment, identifying pregnancies associated with genetic conditions, implementing clinical decision support, and improving adherence to current professional society guidelines and standards of care.

Admission to participate in the Webinar is free, but registration is required. Payment is required only if you want to take the continuing nursing education (CNE) test ($15 fee). 1.5 contact hours will be awarded for full participation in this activity, and completion of the evaluation and continuing nursing education test. In order to earn contact hours, participants must pass the CNE test with a score of 70 percent or higher.

At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the importance of the family health history to quality preconception/prenatal care and barriers to obtaining needed information in the clinical settings;
  2. Explain the key components of family health history;
  3. Describe strategies for timely collection of information for clinical care; and
  4. Discuss strategies to test the usability/ impact of new approaches
