The healthcare climate is changing every day. Pay for performance and quality incentives are forcing systems to re-evaluate how healthcare is delivered. Out of hospital “ambulance” or emergency medical service (EMS) providers offer 24/7 availability, considerable knowledge and skills, and are often the first providers to interact with patients within the continuum of care.
