A New England Healthy Homes Webinar

Learning objectives: At the end of the webinar participants will be able to:

  • Identify drivers, types, and potential indicators of pesticide misuse in homes
  • Describe potential consequences of pesticide misuse
  • Discuss how to use the information on pesticide labels
  • Describe the principles of integrated pest management their application to pest problems. 
  • List resources and referrals in cases of pesticide misuse and/or proactive pest management

Presenters:
Susannah Reese leads the StopPests in Housing Program at Cornell University’s Northeastern IPM Center. She coordinates the HUD and USDA interagency efforts to provide integrated pest management training and consultation in affordable housing. She holds a MS in natural resource management and has worked in Cooperative Extension as a community educator for 13 years.


Kaci Buhl is a Senior Research Assistant at Oregon State University, and she coordinates the National Pesticide Information Center (NPIC), a cooperative agreement with the US EPA. She holds degrees in entomology and integrated pest management, and her current work examines trends in pesticide-related exposure incidents, as reported to NPIC.
