Sexual Violence in Black and African American Communities

You are invited to join us this summer for special conversations about sexual violence and its impact on Black and African American communities. These events are free and open to the public.

Black Men and Sexual Violence

This community conversation will be facilitated by Marlon Ramnanan and focus on the impacts of sexual violence on the lives of Black men. There is a dearth of research and conversations on the impact of sexual violence on the lives of Black men. This conversation will seek to highlight the ways Black men are impacted by sexual violence as survivors and interveners.

This community conversation will address the following questions: How do we see sexual violence show up in the lives of Black men? How does the dominant narrative of Black masculinity impact sexual violence perpetrated against Black men? What roles do and can Black men have in ending sexual violence?
