Nominations Extended for CPHA Public Health Awards‏

Nominations have been extended to Friday, January 31, 2014 for the 2014 CPHA Public Health Awards. Nominate a colleague, student, layperson or healthcare professional who exemplifies outstanding professionalism, dedication and contributions in the field of public health to one of the four awards below. The application process is simple. Membership is not required for nomination to CPHA awards. See the nomination form for instructions and more information. Nominations should be e-mail to [email protected].

The awards will be presented at the CPHA Awards Breakfast scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 8 – 11 am at the Quinnipiac University School of Medicine in North Haven, CT. Look for more information about this event in your e-mail box soon.

C.-E.A. Winslow Award: The C.-E.A. Winslow Award is presented to a public health professional that has demonstrated leadership and achievement in practice, research and /or education.

Ira V. Hiscock Award: The Ira V. Hiscock Award is presented annually to a Connecticut layperson or organization that has made notable contributions to the advancement of public health through public service, education, advocacy and/or leadership.

Charles G. Huntington III Award: The Charles G. Huntington III Award is presented annually to a Connecticut health care practitioner who has demonstrated public health leadership and a commitment to the health and well-being of populations.

Michael J. Perlin Student Award: The Michael J. Perlin Student Award recognizes a current graduate or undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited public health program who demonstrates, through student activities and/or community service, a commitment to leadership, volunteerism, and the highest educational standards.
