March and April are active months for public health professionals. In Connecticut, lawmakers are busy addressing public health issues such as availability of e-cigarettes, improved access to health care and protecting children from toxic chemicals. The legislative session is a short one, it began on February 5th and is slated to end on May 7th. CPHA would like to host your students at the Capitol on April 8thfrom 8:30- Noon where they will learn tips and tools for advocating. They will take a tour of the Capitol, learn about key public health bills, and meet with policymakers to to both listen and voice their views. Materials will be available online to help educators and students prepare for the day. Space is limited so please email us at [email protected] or [email protected] to express your interest. (The space has been FILLED!)
