The Michael J. Perlin Student Award winner is Avery H. LaChance
Avery LaChange is a MD/MPH candidate in her final year at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Throughout her graduate school training, she has been active in a number of public health initiatives including taking on leadership roles in UConn's Urban Service Track, writing and advocating on behalf of indoor tanning health policy in CT and conducting research on self image, skin tone perceptions, and skin tone altering activities in the CT adolescent population. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a residency in dermatology and is planning to dedicated her career to dermatology as it intersects with public health.
