The Connecticut Association of Directors of Health, Inc. (CADH) is seeking applicants for the position of Part-Time Executive Director. The Executive Director will be charged with continuing the success of the organization and working with the board of directors in building a stable future for CADH and its members.

CADH is a nonprofit organization comprised of Connecticut’s local health directors that works to strengthen public health throughout the state. Since it was incorporated in 1996, CADH has served as the voice of local health departments in CT by providing the forum through which the objectives of local public health are represented and presented.

This is a challenging and exciting position due to the diverse nature of Connecticut’s local governmental public health system and the ever-changing landscape of public health practice and funding. The Executive Director serves at the direction of the board of directors and has regular interaction with the board and membership. The Executive Director also represents CADH and its members at the local, state and national level while working with our legislative liaison, auditor and other contracted professionals to ensure the success of the organization.

The candidate must possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Public Health or related field. A minimum of five years of supervisory and administrative experience are required, preferably in a public health organization. To succeed in this position, knowledge of or experience in the following areas will be critical: public policy, legislative advocacy, all aspects of grant writing and development, business administration, marketing and fund-raising. Familiarity with local and state public health agencies and public health practice is essential. The time commitment is dependent on the growth of the organization and the work schedule is flexible. While the position provides the opportunity for a flexible work schedule, the ideal candidate should be available for meetings during the day and occasionally evenings.

For consideration, qualified candidates shall submit a cover letter with resume by email only to Timothy Callahan at [email protected] before June 18th, 2014.
