The 2014 CPHA Annual Conference will be held on October 17, 2014 at the Coco Key Convention Center. In addition to our Keynote and Plenary Speakers, there will be 9 breakout sessions for you to participate in. The morning will feature 2 breakout session time slots, each with 3 unique sessions. The first 3 breakout sessions of the day are below:
State and Community Health Assessments and Improvements Plans: What Do They Mean?
Learn about the implementation of community assessment and improvement plans in our state.
Promising Clinical Preventive Services & New Approaches to Promote the Community's Health
We will identify two community clinical preventative services offered by local health departments/districts, describe outcomes from the local health clinical preventative services, and illustrate the effectiveness of local health interventions promoting community’s health.
Promoting Healthier Choices and Health Careers through Public Health 101: A Workshop for Public Health Mentors and Educators
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to identify community partners (educators/mentors) that can promote public health experiential learning, describe three goals of an interactive Public Health 101 lesson, and discuss how public health prepares students for work and community engagement in the 21st century.
