The Town of Old Lyme is looking for a full time Sanitarian to perform plan reviews, inspections, investigative and enforcement duties to assure that residential, commercial, and other properties comply with the Public Health Code and other related statutes and ordinances. Administers permit process, including inspection, for the installation of wells and septic systems. Conducts food service inspections and investigates other health issues as required.  Provides professional support to Water Pollution Control Authority. Computer skills in appropriate programs essential.

Works under direction of First Selectman and Health Director.

Required: Must be a State of CT Registered Sanitarian, CT Food Inspector Certificate, CT Lead Inspector Certificate, and CT Phase I and Phase II Subsurface Sewage Disposal Certifications; B.S. in Environmental Health or closely related field and three years increasingly responsible experience in environmental health or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work experience and training.
