BUSINESS MANAGER – FULL TIME

The Naugatuck Valley Health District (NVHD) is currently seeking to hire a full time Business Manager to provide district operations, financial and general management functions. The Naugatuck Valley Health District is the local health department for the municipalities of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Seymour and Shelton, and serves a population of approximately 127,273

Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred with 2-3 years’ experience in accounting, business management, or related field. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position. Exceptions to the requirements may be made for compelling reasons. Experience in human resources management, facilities management, and grants management is desirable.

Responsibilities:

The Business Manager is responsible for all accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, audit interface, general ledger, and preparation of financial statements; oversight of purchasing; human resources coordination of employee records, payroll, retirement plan, workers’ compensation plan, insurances, and other related benefits; accounting functions related to grants; and oversight of facilities management functions, among others.

Compensation:

This 35-hour per week position offers a comprehensive benefit package of medical insurance, retirement and related fringe benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
