The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) has asked each member state health department and commissioner to promote its VoteSafe initiative and resources for assuring every citizen has the opportunity to vote safely this year. Their resources page can be found here: https://astho.org/votesafepublichealth/
CPHA wants our members to know about these resources and give them the opportunity to further spread the word. I feel that we have a responsibility as a public health association to support getting people to the polls safely next month, especially with so much at stake this year.
ASTHO also put together a Connecticut-specific one-stop site for voters to learn about how to ensure they are registered and access instructions on how to vote by various methods. ASTHO also has sample social media messages and graphics that partners can use to spread the word of the initiative and available resources.
The Connecticut Public Health Association is an affiliated association of the American Public Health Association (APHA). APHA is the national voice of public health and champions the health of all people and all communities. They are the only
organization that combines a 140-plus year perspective, the ability to influence federal policy to improve the public’s health and a member community from all public health disciplines and over 40 countries. Learn more at www.apha.org.
